（关丹6日讯）首相拿督斯里纳吉说，政府正深入研究开辟关丹马中产业园区的计划，并已与中国投资者会面商讨此事。
“再给我们多一点时间针对这项计划拍案定夺，这项计划一旦付诸实施，关丹的投资水平肯定比目前来得高。”
他今天在关丹出席一场亲民活动，并在会上致词。在场者包括首相夫人拿汀斯里罗丝玛、副首相丹斯里慕尤丁、彭亨州务大臣拿督斯里安南耶谷等人。
纳吉上月访华时宣布，政府已鉴定彭亨州关丹约600公顷地段，作为中马钦州产业园区的姐妹园区。
他较后说，中国总理温家宝原则上同意设立及推动“姐妹”园区，接下来的细节交由首相对华特使丹斯里黄家定及彭亨州政府跟进。
重点发展综合制造业
他说，在关丹设产业园区是因为关丹已拥有港口，面向南中国海的关丹港口也是最恰当的卸载地点。
中马钦州产业园区设在广西钦州市金鼓江地区，首期规划面积15平方公里，未来发展将根据园区建设情况总面积可扩大至55平方公里。
按照规划，中马钦州产业园区将重点发展综合制造业、信息技术产业和现代服务业，按照“中马合作、全球招商”原则，既为中马两国企业服务，又面向东盟其它国家和全球招商。
在首期规划中，7.87平方公里面积的发展预料将带来约3亿美元（约918亿6000万令吉）的投资。

KUANTAN: The Government is in the midst of finalising details of the Malaysia-China Kuantan industrial park project to raise the amount of investments in the country, said Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib Tun Razak, adding that the state government had been asked to identify an area of 185ha in Gebeng to jointly develop the project with China.
“The project was mooted during my recent visit to China and it will be a sister park to the Qinzhou industrial park. Kuantan is the most suitable site as it faces the South China Sea and has a direct link to the deepwater Qinzhou port.
“Once the project deal is sealed, it will increase foreign investments and open other opportunities to the country and state,” he said during a meet-the-people session in Taman Gelora here on May 6.
Citing an example, Najib said Hainan Island in China had a population of 25 million and if Malaysia could attract just 10% of them to come for a holiday, it would boost the country’s tourism sector.
He said as the country was striving to achieve high-income status, the Government would want to see balanced development for each state and inclusive benefits for the people.
“I can envision that Kuantan has the potential to be developed as an industrial and tourism site. I’ve directed the East Coast Economic Region to construct a waterfront project to attract more tourists.
