2020 China Malaysia (Guangxi) Online Durian Festival is the first innovative online durian festival. The ceremony is opening today in Qinzhou, China and held live with two online sessions in Kuala Lumpur and Raub, Pahang simultaneously.
This online durian festival which took place at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences is held to strengthen the model of two countries’ twin parks and to encourage the development of durian industry leveraging on Qinzhou free trade zone as the platform.
The Vice Chairman of China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (Guangxi) Development Co. Ltd (CMQD), Dato Beh Hang Kong pointed out that this online durian festival is very timely to reach the gap between Malaysia and China under the friendship project of two countries’ twin parks.
He also urged all durian orchard owners, processors, supporters or downstream industrial players to work together to further develop the market that makes Malaysia the biggest durian exporter in the world.
Meanwhile, Director of Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC), Dato’ Ir. Fong Tian Yong, representative of the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to China, mentioned that the export of Malaysian durian to China will contribute to the bilateral trade between Malaysia and China. He also hoped that this durian collaboration project would benefit both countries.
Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, H.E. Bai Tian said that this durian festival which is held online and offline is an innovative move that can provide more opportunities to Chinese durian lovers.
