11.06.2020: China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia (CECCM), led by President Zhang Min, paid a courtesy call to Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China cum MCBC Chairman, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing to exchange views on bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Malaysia and China.
Participants of the above courtesy call included Liu Shaoquan, Secretary General of CECCM, Tian Hua, Vice President of CECCM, Lu Enfu, Vice President of CECCM and Yang Zhijun, General Treasurer of CECCM; Datuk Yong Teck Shing, Executive Director of MCBC, Samuel Lee, Deputy CEO of MCBC and Mr Nazree Mohamed, Prime Minister’s Special Envoy Senior Private Secretary.
Dato Sri Tiong also promised that he will actively promote the Malaysia-China trade cooperation and people-to-people exchange.
He looked forward to working closely with the CECCM to create a more business-friendly environment for Chinese investors in Malaysia.
Dato Sri Tiong pointed out that oil palm is one of Malaysia’s important economic crops, but its export value is facing great challenges under the former regime.
He said that it is time to increase the export volume of palm oil by cooperating with the related global stakeholders, in order to overcome the current economic downturn.
“We may consider using barter trade system for trading the equivalent value of exported and imported goods between two countries, this is to reduce the currency fluctuations and to achieve a win-win situation.”
