Courtesy Visit by Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce paid a courtesy visit to MCBC led by Deputy Director Li Xie. Datuk Yong Teck Shing, Executive Director of MCBC led a team of MCBC committee representatives to receive and welcome the Hainan delegation. The two parties engaged in meaningful discussion in exploring fisheries industry, seafood, and aquatic products in Hainan and in Malaysia. Mr Li Xie highlighted the comprehensive supply chain of the fishery industry in Hainan and the China’s economic reform to transform Hainan into the world’s largest free trade port by 2025 and develop the region’s pilot free trade zone. MCBC representatives shared and exchange views with the delegation on investment in marine products in Malaysia to capitalise on the natural advantages of the country, particularly in the robust supply chain and access to sustainable deep-sea fisheries.
