This year’s International Financial Forum (IFF) Spring Meetings 2021 highlights the theme of global governance and development in the post-pandemic era.
The two days event which was held from 29th to 30th May 2021 in Beijing, China aims to provide a platform for in-depth discussions on international cooperation and global governance and to promote development and collaboration in sustainable finance, climate change, public health issues, and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
During the keynote address, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China cum Chairman of MCBC, YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing mentioned that all mankind must work together closely to flatten the global challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The green economy, financial technology (Fintech), cashless mechanism, and e-commerce development were among the matters raised by Dato Sri Tiong during his speech held virtually.
He also added that signing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement with 14 other RCEP Participating Countries (RPCs) was a milestone for the regional economic integration and post-pandemic economic recovery against Covid-19.
